Remembering together

What is the Day of Reflection?

Held annually since 2021, the Day of Reflection gives people and communities across the UK space to commemorate those who died, reflect on the sacrifices made during the pandemic and acknowledge the experiences of everyone affected.

It was recommended by the UK Commission on Covid Commemoration following consultation with bereaved people and others affected by the pandemic. The government has committed to continuing the day each year as part of its wider Covid commemoration programme.

Remembrance and action

We remember the people we lost while continuing to expose the failures that cost lives, demand accountability and fight for the lessons of the pandemic to be acted on.
